Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Qora ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License

Your use of the App is licensed, not sold, to you. If you installed Qora from the App Store, the licence is Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), together with these Terms. If you installed it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply together with these Terms. In either case the license is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable, for personal, non-commercial use.

3. What the App does

Qora turns your notes into short, structured lessons with quizzes. You can:

  • Add a note by typing it, dictating it, or taking text from a photo of a page
  • Have the App generate a lesson path, quiz questions, fill-in-the-blank exercises, and summaries from that note
  • Ask follow-up questions about your material in AI chat

Lesson and quiz generation is performed by an AI model running on servers operated by our third-party AI providers (Groq, and Replicate when Groq is unavailable). Text you submit for these features is transmitted off your device. Photo text recognition and voice transcription are performed on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

4. AI-generated content

Lessons, quizzes and answers are produced by a language model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before relying on it. Qora is a study aid, not a source of authoritative fact, and is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

5. Your content

You retain full ownership of the notes you create. Your notes, lessons and progress are stored on your device; we do not keep a copy on our servers. You grant us only the limited permission needed to transmit and process the text you submit in order to return a generated lesson, quiz or answer to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to submit content you do not have the right to use, and not to use the App to generate content that is unlawful, abusive, or that infringes the rights of others. You also agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, or to resell or redistribute it.

7. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

  • Qora Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, available on a monthly or annual plan. The exact price and billing period for your region are shown in the App before you confirm any purchase.
  • Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase to the account you bought it with — your Apple Account on iPhone, or your Google Play account on Android.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
  • You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings, or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to that store's refund policy. Refund requests are made to the store you purchased from, not to us.

8. Device requirements

The App requires iOS 17.0 or later, or Android 7.0 or later, and an internet connection for lesson and quiz generation. Features that depend on the network are unavailable offline.

9. Third-party material

Some lessons display illustrative images sourced from Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons, shown with attribution to their source. Those images remain subject to their own licences and to Wikimedia's terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App.

12. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms. Changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
